Near Hirson in the Thiérache, the Gîte de France du Cheval de Renfort is a 19th century post-house in Ohis, set in rolling, hedge-trimmed countryside. This charming, comfortable gîte has the special Panda label (symbol of the WWF) and is fully equipped for babies: bath seat, potty, bottle warmer, cot, high chair, etc. Young children have a play room and bikes and can watch otters and storks whilst older children can go hiking, mountain biking or horse riding. The whole family can explore the famous fortified churches, the abbey of Saint-Michel or the Familistère Godin. For sporty types there’s swimming, bowling at the Ile Verte or archery and canoeing down the river Oise with Thiérache Sport Nature.
